The Best of the Gold Carpet: 2024 NAACP Awards

Last night, March 16th, marked the 55th annual NAACP Image Awards. Held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, the event celebrates the accomplishments of people of color in categories including film, television, music, and literature. Queen Latifah hosted the evening and actors like Fantasia Barrino and Taraji P. Henson of The Color Purple, Colman Domingo of Rustin, Issa Rae of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, India Amarteifio of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, Ayo Edebiri of The Bear, and Quinta Brunson of Abbott Elementary were honored for their performances. Musicians including Victoria Monét, H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, and Usher were also recognized at the awards. Our favorite part, though, was the fashion—from classic and elegant silhouettes to eccentric looks, the runway was certainly not a disappointment.

Fantasia Barrino

Starting off strong, The Color Purple star stunned in a Mônot gown with a daring bow detail.
