The Best of Ft. Wayne Indiana

Fort Wayne Indiana

"Wow! Did we have the best time last weekend at the Ft. Wayne Family Media Tour! My niece and I had a blast! Many thanks to Visit Ft. Wayne for their generosity and extending the invitation to Hope Magazine. Not only did they take care of hotel accomodations, but lunch was also provided. To kick off the weekend, the Visit Ft. Wayne Team rolled out the red carpet where each media guest received a beautiful bag from Vera Bradley, who will be hosting their wildly popular, annual outlet sale in a few weeks after a three year hiatus on June 14 through June 18! It was loaded with so many fun goodies and gifts for the whole family. It also included a lot of signature items from the local baseball league, and the Ft. Wayne Zoo! Believe it or not, last weekend was also my first time visiting the Ft. Wayne Zoo and the experience was everything (even though there was a lot of walking!) My niece and I started our time there with an African safari followed by up close, breathtaking views of three colorful peacocks that were freely strolling around the zoo’s premises and interacting with a crowd of curious spectators.

The Ft. Wayne Zoo unveiled its latest exhibit, Red Panda Ridge, featuring one of the largest red panda habitats in the United States! To add to the fun, I even got to sink my teeth into a delicious Famous Ft. Wayne Coney Island hot dog! Anyone who knows me knows I love hot dogs! Lastly, the city is expanding by way of its Phase 2 Riverfront Development! Set to open in 2024, Ft. Wayne’s riverfront development will be extending its public space from Promenade Park. These new expanded spaces will include an extension of the Tree Canopy Trail, boat docks, an accessible bouldering mound, a hammock grove, and walking trails! It was an all-around beautiful day, a fantastic way to spend the weekend, and I look forward to going again!"
