Level-up with a New Focus

Making New Years’ resolutions or setting goals is a popular way to greet the new year. With 2025 around the corner, perhaps, this is a good time to review or redefine your 2024 goals.

Self-improvement and accomplishing goals is a perpetual topic as we strive to improve our lives. The common theme is making changes to become a better person.

There are different types of goals that women strive to achieve. Women make goals to improve their lives in some kind of way—mentally, physically, and emotionally. For example, goals that focus on personal self-improvement enables you to gain control over a specific area of your life. Career goals allow you to learn something new to enable career achievement and advancement.

With three months remaining in the year, approaching your goals with commitment helps position you to meet your goals. Embrace your end-of-the-year goals with the mindset that you have a short time period to reach your goals.

Identify goals that are achievable in three months

With a three-month timeframe, focus on short-term goals. Some examples:

  • Change a bad habit: Eat less junk and fried food or reduce drinking alcohol

  • Develop a new habit: Start an exercise program: walk around your neighborhood or take an exercise class

  • Learn something new: Enroll in a class to expand your skill set to boost your career options

Short-term goals help boost your self-esteem

Short-term goals require clearly defined milestones. Here are some tips for setting achieving goals in three months:

  • Write down your short-term goals with specific details

  • Use a strategy to define how you’re going to reach goals. Try the SMART method to define goals: specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and identify a date

  • Focus on one goal and reward yourself when you reach it.

  • Be mindful of your progress and make changes to align with your goal.

Self-motivation and support

Embarking on change can be challenging so solicit support from family and friends. Let them know your goals and when you want  to achieve them. With family and friends cheering you on, it’s easier to achieve goals.

Let hope guide you along the way and inspire you to achieve your short-term goals. Hope is a powerful and positive force that can lead you to accomplishing goals. Think about how happy you will feel when you reach your goal. You will be an inspiration for yourself and others. Ending the year with a goal accomplishment can motivate you to greet 2025 with new goals
