A Night of Fashion, Inspiration & Resilience

What a night of inspiration and fashion during the Benefit Fashion Show honoring breast cancer survivors hosted by Reconstruction of a Survivor & Jenise Gregg Couture.

The room was full of beauty, intelligence, and resilience. We witnessed women who are not just overcomers, but have built a community of survivors and family. The energy and laughter in the room were a breath of fresh air. Hearing testimonies from the survivors and watching others be honored for the impact they’ve made in a time when love on display seems to be slim was timely and encouraging.

Tables were elegantly decorated with linen tablecloths and beautiful bouquets of fresh flowers as centerpieces on each table, and as the attendees dined, we were serenaded by “Demola the Violinist” from Lagos, Nigeria who now resides in Houston, Texas.

We were blessed to hear from keynote speaker, Dr. Tamika Cross, who encouraged everyone to prioritize early detection by scheduling exams, reminding friends and sisters, and to never stop advocating for yourself.

After enjoying lovely food prepared by an efficient culinary staff, the ladies lit the runway with fashions from The French Cuff and Jenise Gregg. It was such fun witnessing some of the women who were once in the fight for their lives now bring smiles to our faces while receiving the love and applause so deserving from the audience.

To top off the evening, we were greeted by the Director of Reconstruction of a Survivor, Melissa Gregg, who graciously thanked every sponsor, team member, and attendee for their support and presence. Melissa is not only continuing the legacy of the founder of this organization, her mother, Dr. Jennie M. Bennett, but she showed a beautiful expression of love and honor to her mother by displaying a picture of her on the train of her dress.

Love in action and on display.

It was such an honor to be in a room of hope, faith, and determination.

Excellent job, Melissa and Reconstruction of a Survivor.
